Thomas and new Mom – Sept 2026Thomas and new Dad- Sept 2026
Sept 6, 2026 HAPPY DAY TODAY!!! THOMAS’ FOSTER FAMILY ADOPTED HIM!!!
I’m soooo happy for THOMAS! This wonderful couple takes such good care of Thomas & he has had it ROUGH!
The Vet said THOMAS had the worse case of stomatitis/gingivitis that she had ever seen! THOMAS’ mouth was red, inflamed and severely painful when I rescued him. He was not far away from death from this horrible infection. He was skin and bones!
After a full mouth dental surgery (ALL teeth extracted) THOMAS began to slowly improve. He was on several medications (especially for pain) and he slowly got better.
THOMAS had this wonderful couple offer to foster him and, of course, they fell in love with him! THOMAS was a feral cat and at 2 yrs old, he had never been touched or approached by a human. Surprisingly, he and his 3 siblings that I also rescued, are super kind and humble. They are sweet and easy to work with! Im so very happy for THOMAS! Im not sure who is luckier, THOMAS or the couple that adopted him!
Look at these amazing pictures! I also saw a video of him today running around his room & playing! Now that is a huge milestone!
He is the 3rd kitty out of the 4 rescued sibling ferals, Jimmy, Thomasina and Michelle from one location needing some serious dental surgery. Luckily, Jimmy has good teeth!

Shells – Jan 2023
January 2023 FURR has rescued this gorgeous feral kitten! Terry trapped at her “seafood colony”. She and her brother, Puffer, both need a foster home/homes with someone who can spend a lot of time holding and petting them. They are approximately 4 months old:
Shells is a sweet girl with short hair and lovely dilute gray tortie coloring.
Puffer, Shell’s male sibling, has long hair black kitten with an amazing silver mane!

Michael – now Michelle – Dental Surgery $1,229.69 Invoice 8-31-26Michael (now Michelle) arriving at FURR – June 2026
Sept. 1, 2026 Michelle (previously Michael before her sex was known) had his dental surgery yesterday. He did well & had almost all of his teeth removed.
The good news is that she should do well after surgery and hopefully will start eating better and gain some weight!
She is the 3rd kitty out of the 4 rescued sibling ferals, Jimmy, Thomasina and Thomas (adopted) from one location needing some serious dental surgery. Luckily, Jimmy has good teeth!
The interesting news about this surgery is that the vet determined that MICHAEL is a girl, so of course we renamed her Michelle!
Sound Cat and I never bothered to look because it was an already ear tipped orange tabby and just assumed it was a boy!!! LOL!
When I picked up Michael yesterday from Sound Cat, we were all laughing because he is now “MICHELLE”!!!

Sept 7, 2026 This extremely feral cat has made HUGE progress after only a few months. Watch this month’s video!
It’s amazing to compare his Sept. 2026 video above with this mid-February 2026 video from shortly after he was captured.
When FURR trapped “TREASURE” in mid-February 2026, he was feral, had badly matted fur, thin, dirty and angry and had a mouthful of dental issues.
Here is a video from early March 2026 right after his dental surgery. He had 3 broken canine teeth pulled and 1 canine was gone! Luckily, he did not have any other problems, such as stomatitis or gingivitis. I’m sure those broken canines were quite painful. After the surgery, but while he was still somewhat sedated, I was able to pet him a little without my bite glove on. This is one gorgeous cat.
Treasure – Sept 206Treasure – June 2026
It took me weeks to be able to pet him (with bite gloves on), but I spent hours & hours with him. I brushed him & got all the mats out of his fur. I talked to him, gave him treats and discovered that he is extremely food motivated.
The difference in his beginning and where he is now is truly amazing!
I was very reluctant to take in another feral cat at the moment. Ive been overwhelmed with too many cats, but I took him in and it is an amazing story.
TREASURE still needs more work before adoption, but he is very close! Look at this BEAUTIFUL cat now!!!

July 25, 2026 ” FLOUR ” ADOPTED!!!
One of Honey’s kittens got adopted! Hooray!
One of my old Charlotte volunteers drove down to Hampstead with a potential adopter for FLOUR. Laura graciously showed the kitten (Laura, bless her heart, is fostering Honey & her 4 kittens!).
It was love at first sight & away FLOUR went back to Charlotte! I had already approved the adopter on paper & my old FURR volunteer did the home check for me.
FLOUR is doing GREAT in her new home & I get regular updates that are wonderful!

April 16, 2026 URGENTLY NEED A FOSTER HOME FOR A SWEET, LOVING MAMA AND 4 BEAUTIFUL KITTENS! Last week a lady dropped off a stray cat at Sound Cat Veterinary Hospital. The lady said the kitty was having problems (but wasn’t her kitty. She was having kittens!
Sound Cat called me & said they don’t keep moms & babies! I went & got them & unfortunate, since I’m out of room at the rescue, the mom & FOUR kittens are at my house!
I promised my husband i would NOT bring any more cats & kittens home if i opened a rescue
The cat is SUPER friendly & the 4 kittens are adorable. I don’t have any room at FURR, but I do want them at FURR as soon as possible because this mama THRIVES on attention & love!
I don’t have time or space to give her what she needs! Thanks!
Thomasina pre surgery – Aug 2026Thomasina – Aug 2026
September 2026 THOMASINA sweet, quiet, kind and gentle (exactly like her brother Jimmy) is 2 years young, fully vetted and ready to go to s real home! Thomasina is loving and when you hold her, she just buries her little head in your arm and purrs when getting pets!
This docile kitty is such an easy keeper and we, at FURR, are just smitten with her gently nature.
August 20, 2026 Terry shares that Thomasina’s surgery went well! She lost most all of her teeth and 1 of her canines that was cracked. Thomasina was purring this evening when Terry was petting her. Updated fundraiser – we need $1,900 to cover the cost of this surgery and her brother, Thomas’s, vet checkup as well.
August 15, 2026 I noticed that THOMASINA was not responding to my petting her and had her head tucked down between her front paws! I knew something was wrong.
Thomasina post-surgery with Terry 8-20
Our veterinarian, the Sound Cat Veterinary Hospital, worked her in for me on Aug. 14th and we learned that she needs FULL MOUTH EXTRACTIONS!
Her surgery this Thursday, August 20, 2026!
We want her to be healthy & happy so we have to do this for her!
Thank you and please pray for her swift recovery. As we await her surgery date, I’m keeping her more comfortable with pain medications.
She is the 3rd kitty out of the 4 rescued sibling ferals, Jimmy, Michelle and Thomas (adopted) from one location needing some serious dental surgery. Luckily, Jimmy has good teeth!

August 11, 2026 Buddy needs a foster to enjoy feeling better after successful dental surgery. We have successfully completed the fundraiser to reimburse FURR for his recent $1,500 dental surgery where he needed 17 teeth pulled!
Watch his most recent video where Terry shows what a sweet boy he is and how he deserves to be the next kitty who finds a foster or FURR-ever home!
Buddy needs a patient, loving foster home as he is very shy, so he needs help preparing for adoption into a FURR-ever home someday.
He is happy, healthy and loves to be around other cats! He would love to meet you!
Watch his video! Buddy is improving every day learning to trust and be loved! He is purring & making biscuits! Could you be his new angel? He surely deserves it! Buddy was rescued underneath the pier at Topsail Beach at Buddy’s restaurant. A good person called me to come save him!

Fosters and Adopters should be prepared to spend time with the cat(s) and able to keep them in a totally separate room. This timeframe is unique to each kitty. Sometimes it only takes a few days, but it may take a few weeks for a kitty to become relaxed and comfortable in your home.
For our Fosters:
FURR covers a fostered kitty’s food, litter, supplies and any needed vet costs for as long as they are in the foster’s care
We also ask our Fosters to please also be prepared to notify Terry atAdoptafurrcat@gmail.com at least 2 weeks in advance if you’re no longer able to continue to fostering.
If you are not ready to foster or adopt a kitty, please consider sponsoring.
