Terry Schultz – Founder and President
Terry Schultz founded Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab (FURR) in 2009. Terry grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, on a horse farm and always had numerous animals as a child chinchillas, dogs, cats, horses, goats, and geese. With the encouragement and support of her parents, she developed a love for animals during her childhood and also began riding and showing horses at a young age. As a result, Terry has been involved in animal rescue for many years.
Terry founded Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab (FURR) a registered 501(c)(3) organization so she could devote 100% of her time to her passion of rescuing and taming stray and feral cats. She operates a no-kill, cage-free facility, the FURR Lodge, which is a safe haven for cats to temporarily reside until they are adopted into their “furrever” home. Terry and her husband Mike live in Waxhaw, North Carolina, with their 4 rescued dogs and 10 rescued cats. Their motto is “Saving the World One Kitty at a Time!”
Michelle Rivers – Vice President
Michelle has been involved with FURR for at least six years mainly as the Web Site Administrator, currently catfurr.org, and previously the adoption sites PetFinder and Adopt a Pet. She occasionally also helps with rescues, home visits, volunteering at the facility and even the Christmas cards.
She has always has a special love for kitties and so naturally developed a love for our animal rescue work as well!
Marisa Spicer – Financial Director
Marisa Spicer became acquainted with FURR when she was looking to adopt a kitten. She came for a kitten and left with a kitten and an adult cat. She has been volunteering with FURR since she adopted her 2 cats in 2014. Marisa assists with the financial paperwork, as well as doing a weekly shift at the FURR facility (the “lodge”).
Marisa has always loved animals and has had cats her entire life. Marisa lives in Charlotte with her three cats. She loves the work of FURR and is proud to give her time to such a great organization.
