Oct. 31, 2025 Major update and good news! BONNIE (Siamese mix) & JUNE (Russian Blue mix), the 2 kittens that I trapped & rescued from Rocky Point, NC, are doing great! I can’t thank Laura & Jim enough for fostering these 2 babies! FURR was completely overwhelmed!

Both are SUPER sweet, loving kittens! They love to play together & are healthy & happy sisters! They are now spayed, shots, tested, etc., and ready to go! They are still learning about humans, but coming along quickly! They would probably do best in a quieter home &, of course, priority given to adopters that are willing to keep them together!

BONNIE & JUNE certainly are GORGEOUS kittens with really soft fur! They will not last long, so text FURR soon if you want to squeeze them! Contact Terry Schultz, FURR’s President, at 864-483-2444.

Oct. 27, 2025 Meet Blossom, a young Tuxedo female! She is an “in your face” kinda girl!  BLOSSOM never met a stranger! Watch her videos: Blossom-1 and Blossom-2

This beautiful Tuxedo girl was surrendered by her owner, who could not care for her properly any more.

BLOSSOM has been completely vetted by FURR & is in excellent health. She LOVES to eat, so the sound of a can opening brings her sprinting!!!

Perch & Spot moving to FURR’s Sanctuary

Spot at the Sanctuary – 11-1-2025

Nov. 1, 2025 I’ve made the difficult decision today to move these 2 cats from the FURR adoption center out to the sanctuary.

It is heartbreaking for me to have to face the reality that I could not get these cats ready for adoption.

I have spent THREE years working with these 2 cats & I still cannot put Revolution on them, trim their nails or pick them up without an act of Congress!

No one wants these cats & I love them both so much. I have gotten so close to them….but usually at a distance. I’m the only one that can pet them, but that’s about it.

Both PERCH & SPOT were trapped & rescued at the Atlantic Seafood place that closed down.

Perch at the Sanctuary – 11-1-2025

I have no idea what there life was like before I saved them, but I imagine it was survival of the fittest.

It’s difficult to accept that there will be a few feral cats that have been so traumatized by humans that they cannot recover.

I know they will be ok at the sanctuary, but today would be their last Revolution treatment, their last personal “hands on” by me and the last time they will see their close siblings.

PERCH was crying in his temporary cage at the sanctuary & my heart just broke. When I added SPOT to join him, he quieted down.

I know this is only a temporary transition period, but I hate it for them. They don’t understand what’s happening to them.

Please say a prayer for PERCH, SPOT & for me. It’s tough love at Its max.

A local vet called me & asked for my help in working with a feral family of cats that she was fostering.

She had a feral rescued mom & 4 babies in her garage. The kittens were coming around but the mama was hissing & swatting at her.

I went over and assessed the mama & could quickly see that she had great potential to be adopted. I gave the vet some instructions & pointers, but she called me a week or so later to tell me some news.

The kittens were taken in by a rescue but the mama kitty would be euthanized because she was feral.

Of course the mama cat had already pulled on my heart strings, so I took her to keep her alive.

At FURR, the mama cat, named “SUE”, tamed up beautifully and quickly! She has become sweet as pie, loves pets & talks to us all the time with her “thank you for saving me” conversations!

To top it off, SUE is absolutely gorgeous, healthy & loves the other cats!

SUE is spayed, had all her shots, blood tested & ready to go!

December 12, 2024 Both “Cocoa”, a 6-8 month old black female, and “Rocky”, a 2 year old gray tabby male, are now fixed, microchipped, shots, blood tested, etc. Now all they need is time and patience to get them ready for an indoor homes. Watch their video!

We would GREATLY appreciate anyone foster home for these two since we have no where to put them but in a small cage. Both are healthy, beautiful and progressing nicely.

We did receive a donation to cover their cost (thank GOD!), so their current vet bills have been paid!!!

November 28, 2024 I successfully caught 2 feral cats early Tues am in Holly Ridge! My realtor called me because she was moving and had been feeding them. She didn’t want to just leave them behind.

I took traps to her and showed her how to set them up. The traps were left open for about a week and she fed them inside the traps to get them used to it. Tues morning early I caught them, just as planned and took them to the S/N clinic in Castle Hayne.

FURR now has “Cocoa”, a 6-8 month old black female, and “Rocky”, a 2 year old gray tabby male who has a raccoon-looking tail like the cartoon character “Rocky Racoon”.

My realtor had hoped to keep them at her house for recovery and I loaned her a cage, but trying to take care of these kitties and moving at the same time understandably became overwhelming! So these cats are now at the FURR Sanctuary recovering from their surgery and traumatic day! They are both beautiful and I’m at least relieved that they are safe.

September 1, 2025 New FURR rescue! Davis is an adorable 3 to 4 month old silver tabby male kitten! FUN, FUN, FUN!

My niece found this little guy almost dead in the bushes of her front yard! Anemic from hundreds of fleas, skin & bones from starvation and FULL of worms, this kitten was on his way out.

My niece’s husband wrapped him in a towel and brought him inside. I got a call and we all went to work!

After a couple weeks of meds, food and a flea bath, this little boy kitten is doing great! He is the sweetest and happiest fella!

His name is “Davis” and he is ready now for his neuter surgery!

What a great rescue!!!

It has now been over 3 years since these gorgeous cats, Orange Roughy and his brother Guppy, were rescued. They were just kittens when I trapped & saved them from a seafood production plant that was closing down.

The kittens had been traumatized, starved & constantly dodging massive tractor trailer trucks & equipment. They were pitiful & barely alive when I finally caught them.

These 2 brothers have come through a tremendous journey. They are both now healthy & kind, but still very very cautious especially around someone new.

We have worked hard to help them gain confidence and feel safe, but no one will adopt them or give them a chance. Most adopters are looking for a “purrfect” cat that will make themselves happy. Im looking for that selfless adopter that wants to save a life or two because that is what paying it forward & rescue work is all about.

These two beautiful sweet boys need time & love. If you think you have patience & a big heart for the not-so-purrfect cats, give me a call! As soon as you meet these precious souls, your heart will tell you what to do.

I feel so sorry for these cats after so many rescues have come & gone and they still wait for a chance of a home.

Sept. 7, 2024 Meet adorable me in my new video!

April 13, 2024 My name is “BUMBLE BEE” and FURR rescued me from a terrible situation! My BIG bright eyes look just like a bee and my colors too! I am no bigger than a football and have quite a silly/sassy personality! After I get to know someone who is sweet and gentle with me, I follow them all around meowing and sticking my tail straight up in the air!

I’m only between 1 and 2 years old and I love belly rubs. They tell me that I’ve probably had a litter of kittens before! I wonder what happened to them? All I need is a little patience and love to become your little friend! Come visit me soon. I would probably prefer no dogs or loud children, but I do just fine with other cats. If they bother me, I just give them a pop with my paw, but no claws! Call me “Bee” for short!!!
