Original Story – 2020 – Another cat that I rescued from the Hampstead colony is READY FOR ADOPTION! INKY tamed up really quickly and now she is a HOOT! This cat is PERSONALITY PLUS! She just absolutely LOVES to be rubbed & petted! After she gets to know you a little bit, you can pick her up and give her kisses! She is EXTREMELY funny & playful! She sticks out her tongue when she is happy! This shiny black kitty is only about a year old. She needs to be the only kitty in the home and also enjoys a LOT of attention to be happy! INKY is fully vetted and ready to go! This kitty will not be around FURR for long!

April 2021 – Lilac is adopted!

September 2020 – New kitten at FURR! A kitten showed up at the Hampstead colony of cats. I have been trying to catch (trap) it for WEEKS, but it was very feral and would not go near either my regular trap or my drop trap! I stayed out there many nights trying to get it to no avail.

I finally caught it!!! It was really scared and seemed very very anxious to escape. I was amazed at how BEAUTIFUL this kitten was when I got it up close and personal in the trap. I have NO idea who the father is because this kitten is a lynx point/lilac point Siamese mix with BLUE eyes! The kitten is a girl and I have named her “LILAC”. I took her to get fixed, shots, tested, etc., and she has now recovered well.

She is very healthy and low and behold, she LOVES for me to hold her! Once I got her, handled her every day and fed her regularly, she tamed up amazingly fast! This 5 month old kitten is just DROP DEAD gorgeous! I think she is almost ready to be put up for adoption, but I would like her a little more comfortable first. I am sure she will go FAST! She is very very sweet, purrs to beat the band, but runs if I put her down on the floor. As long as I am holding her and petting her, she is very content.

March 2021 – Chatty Cathy and Persimmon are adopted!

Their original Story – 2020 – About Chatty Cathy: THE SWEETEST MAMA KITTY EVER! Watch her Video! She was SO young when she had kittens all alone in the woods! Thank goodness FURR got a call to save her and her little ones! CHATTY is just an amazing girl! She is only about a year old and she is a wonderful mama to her babies (which are now about 4 months old). CHATTY LOVES to be brushed & petted! She looks at you with those BIG sad eyes & BIG ears and your heart just melts! She has been through SO much for such a young kitty and she gets very excited about belly rubs, any attention at all and of course, spending time with her little ones! CHATTY has now been fixed, completely vetted, triple tested (negative), and is ready to begin a new, and BETTER, chapter of her life! Won’t you be the one to give her that??

TWO BEAUTIFUL KITTIES READY FOR ADOPTION! These 2 kittens (now about 4-5 months old, were pulled out of an old shed at the Hampstead colony  that I have been working on. I grabbed them and saved them. They were underneath a lot of junk in the shed, skinny & scared. Now, they are gorgeous, spayed/neutered, super friendly and ready for their new home

WUZZY IS ADORABLE! This little boy is soft, sweet and playful! He has the cutest ear tuffs sticking out of his ears! He loves to be around people and will follow you all around while you do things! WUZZY was rescued as a little kitten and was not in the best of shape. Now, he is super FUN and just has the greatest personality! He is healthy, neutered, had all his shots, plus his blood testing, and he is ON GO! WUZZY gives you that look, right in your eyes, that he totally understands what you are talking about! He loves his sister, FUZZY, but also loves playing with the other kitties too. WUZZY would definitely need a playmate to get out some of his playful energy! This kitty will bring a ton of joy to any household! He has medium length hair with a fluffy tail and just gorgeous markings! This little guy won’t last long!!!

Oct 15, 2020 HOORAY! FUZZY has been adopted by a lovely lady that I just adore! A friend of a friend in Wilmington sent her my way and she fell in love with FUZZY! Her name is Elizabeth and she already has two lovely rescued kitties, but she took FUZZY as a third! Her house is adorable and VERY cat friendly with toys, cat trees and fun things everywhere. I am so happy for my sweet FUZZY who was a pitiful rescued kitten in a horrible shack at the Hampstead colony. She was rescued with her brother, WUZZY, but WUZZY did get adopted a few weeks ago!

FUZZY is a BEAUTIFUL medium haired girl with a SWEET personality! I LOVE the ear tuffs sticking out of her ears! She is a teensy shy until she gets to know you, and then she is non-stop PURRRRR! Her fur is super soft and she has a cute fluffy tail (like her brother WUZZY!) FUZZY will stick out her tongue while you are petting her to show how happy she is…..it is adorable! This sweet kitty loves to play and is all ready for her new home. FUZZY would love to have a friend to play with, if possible, and there are several other kitties at FURR that she really adores (including her brother). This kitty will make a wonderful pet & will want to sit on your lap whenever possible!

Oct. 7, 2020: I am thrilled beyond belief that these two SWEET kitties got a wonderful FURREVER home this time!!!
The folks that kept these kitties through the kitten stage, & then just tossed them to the wayside, will never, ever know what they lost! I really enjoyed fostering these 2 returned cats and Mike & I became very attached to them over the few months.
They are so loving, playful, BEAUTIFUL and a LOT of company! They were amazing companions and I felt SO SORRY for them being locked up in my office!!!

I prayed so hard for them to find the right home and they hit the jackpot!
Eric, the man that adopted them, is retired and home most of the time!
He has a lovely beach home with beautiful views and a lovely screened porch overlooking the marsh. The cats are LOVING his house and the great outdoor smells on the screened porch! They sit with him to watch TV and give him a lot of comfort and company! I am so happy for these TWINS and wish them a long & happy life with Eric! This was truly a happy ending for these amazing cats!!!

Here is their heartwarming story … their next chapter could be with you!

These two kittens were BORN AT the FURR rescue facility! They have been hand raised & loved from the moment they popped out into the world! These two siblings were adopted together when they were cute little kittens almost 2 years ago.

Then they were traumatized when they were uprooted from the only home that they had ever known and RETURNED to FURR! As sweet as these kitties are (and always have been), this move was devastating to them and they had no idea what was happening to them!

Now, after a few weeks of love and patience, these cats seem happy, funny and frisky like they always were! These two are VERY playful and also VERY sweet and gentle. They would be great in a home with older children, adults and even dogs! They are absolutely gorgeous cats and are 100% vetted and ready to go. The main requirement in adopting them is that they are given a couple of weeks of love in a “safe” room before starting over in another new home. They will be “purrfect” in no time and it will be worth the wait! I am already in love with them again………just like when they were first born! (evidently, they were “tripping” an older grandfather by rubbing on his legs).

Like all FURR kitties, these kitties are fully vetted with vaccinations and spaying/neutering. The Adoption fee also includes Microchipping to an approved home only in the Hampstead, NC area.

Update – July 2020 SMUCKERS HAS BEEN ADOPTED! She got an amazing home with some wonderful folks! They have a black kitty already and he and Smuckers are in love! I couldn’t be happier! She was such a delight to have and I miss her every day! Her piercing blue eyes were just so beautiful! Her bunny-like soft fur was unlike any other kitty……….she was funny, playful and just brought lots of sunshine to the FURR rescue and the other cats! I am really happy for her even though I miss her every day.

Here are some pictures to show you how great she has adjusted! Missy still misses her, but I think she is now bonding with another FURR cat!

Thank you Angela for caring for Skippie (mama cat) and Smuckers & siblings! You were so wonderful to foster them and “birth” them into your wonderful home! I’m sure that is why these kitties are SUPER LOVING !!!

Smuckers is a drop dead gorgeous, soft and very playful kitty! Gorgeous and unique looking white female kitten with piercing blue eyes and 3 little black spots on her head! This sweet kitten is looking for her FURREVER home and would love to go there with her FURRever friend, MISSY. To meet them both is to love them!! Both are very, very friendly! A wonderful adoption just occurred! Melissa Madden (and her sister, Susan Quick) just few to Wilmington! Melissa and Susan volunteered for FURR for YEARS. Melissa moved to Florida. She used to help me in the FURR office with EVERYTHING and I have never caught up since she left! I miss her all the time! Susan was a wonderful volunteer who made our FURR table cloths, chair covers, helped with fundraisers and all kinds of volunteering!

Melissa fell in love with Mary Kay, one of my little kittens rescued from the Hampstead colony that I have been working on. Melissa and Susan flew up to Wilmington and I picked them up at the airport. Melissa adopted Mary Kay, and after having lunch and spending some time all together again, the two ladies flew home. Mary Kay was exposed to all kinds of new things including transport by plane!

I am so happy for my little kitten and know that she will have a great home and be forever loved! It was just meant to be! Melissa had rescued another little kitten about the same age as Mary Kay, so the two kittens will have each other to play with and grow up with.
