If you would like to volunteer please contact Terry at Adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

We have a HUGE need for volunteers in many different capacities! We need volunteers to help out at the kitty rescue lodge and we have THREE shifts a day!  Come and learn the rewards of feeding, caring for, brushing and playing with all of the rescued cats and kittens.  YOU can make a HUGE difference in the life of a shy cat, a new cat or a feral cat to prepare them for a future adoption!

There are many hard working FURR Volunteers who lovingly and patiently care for our kitties 7 days a week, rain or shine! Meet one wonderful lady today and check back soon to meet the others!

Meet Angela Lovejoy

How long have you been volunteering for FURR?
Since winter of 2012

How did you find out about this volunteer opportunity?
I got my first rescue cat, Bailey, 3 years ago and have kept in contact with Terry since then.

What do you do besides volunteer?
I am the Insights Director for a company called SPX.  We manufacture industrial equipment and components.

How many pets do you have?
I have five cats – all long-haired – and one from FURR (Karma, pictured above)

What is your favorite part of volunteering?
Building relationships with the kitties. It’s so rewarding when the timid ones finally relax and purr. Sitting on the floor with kittens climbing all over you is also pretty  good for the soul!

Is there anything about you that others may not know?
I am British. I moved over here 15 years ago with my husband, a toddler, a baby  and two cats!

Things we love about Angela

Angela is a bit of a cat whisperer. She makes sure to spend time with the shy ones and the cats really respond to her kindness. Angela is always so pleasant and fun to be around.

Her family helps out with the FURR lodge, and Angela always tries to fill in any open shifts when she can. FURR is lucky to have Angela!
