FURR’s Foster & Adoption Process

Paws in hands

Ready to Foster or Adopt a Kitty?

Please refer to Our Foster & Adoption Process below, which includes our Foster & Adoption Application Questionnaire

Please note there is no need to complete a questionnaire on any of our other adoption sites, such as FURR at Adopt-a-Pet.com or FURR at petfinder.com, among others. We only need our  Foster & Adoption Application Questionnaire completed.

When you foster or adopt one of FURR’s beautiful kitties you will be bring a healthy and very well cared for kitty into your home.

All of the kitties are fully vetted. This means they are FIV/FeLV/HW (Feline Aids, Feline Leukemia, Feline Heart Worm Disease) negative, have age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, are regularly treated for fleas with Revolution and have a clean bill of health. The adult kitties are all spayed or neutered. The kittens are spayed or neutered when they are old enough. The kitties keep themselves clean by using their scratching posts and litter boxes.

Remember, when you foster or adopt a kitty you make room in our facility for us to rescue another kitty! All the kitties deserve to be fostered or adopted on their journey to their FURR-ever home.

Our Foster or Adoption Process:
  1. Find a kitty you’re interested in: FURR at Adopt-a-Pet.com
  2. Email FURR at adoptafurrcat@gmail.com (please copy/paste) to schedule an appointment to meet a kitty.
  3. Complete our Foster & Adoption Application, required of all prospective fosters and adopters.
  4. FURR visits the home of every prospective foster or adopter to ensure a good fit for everyone concerned.
  5. Sign the foster or adoption contract when everyone agrees that you and the kitty are a good match.
  6. If adopting, pay the small adoption fee. This is necessary for each kitty to pay for each kitty’s veterinary care and everything we do for the welfare of each kitty. This fee also enables us to rescue the next kitty desperately in need.

If fostering, FURR will pay for the food, litter, monthly parasite medication and veterinary care if needed.
  7. FURR delivers the kitty to your home.
  8. FURR visits new foster and adopters shortly after delivery to ensure the kitty is acclimating well to the family and home.

If you are not ready to foster or adopt a kitty, please sponsoring. All donations are tax deductible.
